Baptism

At Brookside, we believe that baptism is intended for those who have already placed their faith in Jesus. Baptism is a meaningful step of obedience, publicly expressing your faith in Jesus and that Jesus’ work on the cross has been applied to you.

(A little further down this page, you can find out more on what baptism is all about.)

Interested in being baptized?  Here’s what you can do:

  • Then, read through and fill out this form: Yes, I’m interested in being baptized!

  • That will keep things moving! You’ll then be hearing from us about next steps.

  • Interested in an additional resource that answers some FAQs about baptism, among other things? Check it out here!

What is baptism?

Baptism is a visible picture of the work Jesus has done for us and in us. Our immersion in the water is a picture of our burial with Christ in His death. Our emergence from the water is a picture of being raised to new life with Jesus because of His resurrection.

In baptism, you take a meaningful step of obedience and publicly express that you have placed your faith in what Jesus has done for you. Your life becomes a spotlight, where you say “Yes, I’ve placed my faith in Jesus and want to follow Him.” Your baptism displays the fresh and unique way the beauty of the gospel has been applied to you.

Key verses on baptism: Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4; see also Acts 8:26-40
