Community Impact![]() Community Impact Overview
We desire to be a church that is serving people and making a difference beyond the walls of our building. Community Impact refers to our ministry in the local community and Global Impact refers to our international ministry.
We believe that Jesus came to offer us the eternal kind of life. This life is experienced by becoming Jesus' apprentice so that we can learn to live and love like Him. Brookside’s Community Impact ministries exist to help share this good news with the world.
This ministry may take many forms. It may be explaining Jesus and how to experience eternal life to people that have not yet heard of the good news, or it may be serving the poor to help live out the love of Jesus in a tangible way.
We believe that the church should be serving the community in practical ways and thus become a blessing to people who might not even believe in God.
In the coming years, we hope Brooksiders will get more and more involved in serving our community. In fact, our vision is that every LIFEgroup will serve together once a month or once a quarter. Many Brooksiders will find serving opportunities on their own. But for those who need a few ideas to get started, we will be developing a growing list of recommendations throughout the coming year. (See the list below.)
We hope to establish a serving relationship to a dozen or more organizations in Omaha area. For each organization, there will be a Brooksider who acts as an ambassador. This ambassador will be our contact person to find out what service opportunities are currently available. If you would like to volunteer as an ambassador, please contact John Alford at jalford@Brookside.net.
Brookside also financially supports selected missionaries/ministries who are accomplishing our goals in the community. For more information, visit our Community Impact Missionaries page.
