Senior Pastor and oversees LIFEgroups and Marriage Ministry

 

Steve Moltumyr is committed to helping people discover God's grace through Jesus Christ and then grow in their love for God and love for people.  This was his motivation for deciding to become a pastor and it's guided him in his ministry with Brookside.  Steve and his wife Becky joined with ten other adults to begin Brookside Church in 1981.  His dream for this small group of believers was to grow into a church whose ministry would be significant in making a difference in many individual lives and in benefiting the city of Omaha.  With landscaping his hobby, Steve's ideal relaxing break from ministry is a day spent digging in his yard.  Steve and Becky are blessed with two children, Greg and Niki, one living in Minneapolis and the other in Seattle.

Executive Pastor of Ministries and oversees Communications, Global & Community Impact

 

John joined the Brookside staff back in 1994. After graduating with a Masters in Theology from Wheaton Graduate School, John returned to his hometown of Omaha for ministry.  His life passion is to chase hard after God and to help others do the same.  He desires to be a part of a team committed to the Great Commandment (to love the Lord God with all your heart, mind and soul), and to the Great Commission (to make disciples of all the nations). John loves to go to movies, watch “24”, do anything active outdoors, read good books, vacation in San Diego, and is absolutely addicted to Zio’s and Starbucks! And yes, he prefers Mac's over PC's.

Director of Children’s Ministries

 

As Director of Children's Ministries, it is the desire of Michelle's heart that children's lives would be impacted with the love of Jesus.  Michelle has been involved within children's ministries at Brookside since 1985 and has been on staff since 1998.  She oversees Sunday morning and Wednesday evening programming for our children as well as special events.  She, and her husband, Thom, are the parents of two grown children, Kara and Tad.  Outside of church, Michelle can be found working as pit crew during her husband's racing adventures.

Director of Student Ministries and Teaching Pastor

 

As Director of Student Ministries and a Teaching Pastor, Jeff's desire is to see students and adults changed by the life giving message that comes from God's word.  His life has been transformed by the presence of Jesus Christ and he longs to see others experience the power of God in their lives.  Jeff and his wife Christina have been at Brookside since 2001.  Their son, Aiden, was born in the Fall of 2005 and their daughter Ashlyn, was born in the Fall of 2007.

Worship Pastor

 

Rob Hockney is the Worship Pastor at Brookside.  After earning a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Kansas, he traveled for 8 years with a Christian band.  Through those experiences on the road, Rob developed a strong passion for God's people and them living lives of true worship.  In his spare time, Rob enjoys golfing, writing and recording music and spending time with his wife, Julie and daughter, Morgan.

Executive Pastor of Operations

 

As Executive Pastor, John is responsible for administration, facility, financial and overall church operation. His passion is that all aspects of ministry and operation be effective instruments for people to grow in their relationship with Christ. John has attended Brookside Church since 1988 and has served in many ministries, most recently as an elder for the past four years. Prior to joining the church staff in January, 2005, John worked 30 plus years in the Information Technology field of which the last 20 years entailed various levels of management responsibility. In his free time, John enjoys golf and woodworking. John is married to Peggy and has two grown children and a grandson, Joey, with whom he loves to spend time.”

Director of Women’s Ministries and LIFEgroup Assimilation.

 

Arriving in Omaha with her husband Steve and two pre-schoolers, Becky joined in serving in several roles, as Steve began the leadership of this new church. Becky is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Moorhead, with a degree in education. Joining Brookside's staff in 1995, she first served as Director of Children’s ministry and now leads our  Women’s Ministry as well as the LIFEgroup Assimilation of Brookside.  Her love to help women grow is lived out in the context of women’s bible study groups, leadership teams and events. Becky enjoys, hospitality, reading, travel and cherishes time with Steve and their grown adult children, Greg and Niki.

Director of Men's, Adult Education, and Care Ministries

 

After growing up at Brookside, Tim joined the pastoral staff of the church in June 2006 upon completing his Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. In his spare time, Tim likes to read, do crossword puzzles, go for walks with his family, read some more, wrestle with his boys, grill and (in the Fall) watch Husker football.  Tim has been married to his wife, Carrie, since June 2000.  They have four sons: Carston, Jadon, and twin boys Sawyer and Keller.

Director of Junior High Ministries

 

Brad desires to see Jr. High students trust Jesus with every aspect of their lives and to, then, invite others to do the same.  He believes that Jr. Highers are at a crucial age to be equipped and empowered to serve God.  Brad has been involved with Brookside's Jr. High ministry since 2001 and joined the Brookside staff full-time in 2006 after graduating from Grace University with a degree in youth ministry and Bible.  He and his wife, Leslie, were married in May of 2006, and their first daughter, Chloe, was born in December of 2007.
