Sermon Series
Christianity 24/7
Although the New Testament book of James is
one of the shorter books in the Bible, it’s loaded with practical direction on
how to live out our faith 24/7. It’s all
about faith that really works. Think of
the most significant issues in our Christian lives and they’re likely to be
covered in at least one of the 108 verses that make up this book.

Justice and Mercy
Initiative
Overview
The Justice and
Mercy Initiative is about becoming people with an
outward focus who look to restore the broken and help those in need. We sense that God is encouraging us to engage
this broken world beyond the walls of our own building.
Our theme verse
is Micah 6:8 – “…and what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love
mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
In scripture,
when God challenges his people to pursue “justice,” he is usually telling them
to care for the poor, the sick, the orphan, the widow, or the oppressed. For example, Proverbs 29:7 says, “The
righteous care about justice for the poor.”
The Initiative
will include several aspects: 1) we will
champion this value throughout the year in our church services, 2) we will have
a number of events dedicated to this, 3) we hope to explore a way that we can
get involved globally helping those suffering from extreme poverty 4) we hope
to inspire people to serve our community on their own as individuals or as
LIFEgroups.
