Vision

Brookside's Care Center operates to serve Omaha's foster kids and under-resourced kids referred by school counselors. Whether a child is removed from their home due to abuse and neglect, or they come from a home that can't afford the things they need, many kids in our city are in need of clothes. We provide them with brand new or like new clothing in a dignified boutique-like store.

HOW IT WORKS

Foster families and certain school partners can buy up to 10 items per month, per child. You need a MasterCase number or first time shopper coupon to shop. Our clothing is new and like new. All underwear and socks are new. Our aim is to provide high quality clothes that kids are proud to call their own.

Before You Visit - FAQ's

Q: Can I shop at the Care Center?

A: You will need to have a referral in order to shop at the Care Center. Referrals come in one of two ways. One way you could have been referred is through a foster care agency, in which case we would ask you to please be ready to verify which agency referred you. Another way you could have been referred is by receiving a coupon from one of our school partners. The school counselor/social worker hands out these coupons to under-resourced families within their school. Please be sure to bring your shopping coupon with you when you visit for the first time!

Q: Do I need a coupon to shop?

A: If you received a coupon as your referral to shop at the Care Center, then you will need to provide that coupon the first time that you shop at the Care Center. It is important to note that you will need one coupon for each child that you plan to shop for. It is also important to note that you only need the coupon for the first time you shop for a child. Any time afterwards, the child is in our system, and you are welcome to shop for them once per month!

Q: Do I need to make an appointment?

A: No, you can come shop anytime during our store hours listed above. Please be aware of the few days during the year that we are closed for Holidays or special events.
